Here is a look at my standard reception setup for Maui weddings at the Four Seasons Ocean Front Lawn.

The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is one of the most iconic wedding venues on the island. The Ocean Front Lawn sits right on the water with unobstructed views of the Pacific, Molokini, and Kaho’olawe — the kind of setting that makes every moment feel cinematic.

For outdoor receptions on a lawn this size, sound placement is everything. I use Bose L2 speakers and B2 bass module subwoofers to disperse sound spaciously across the dance floor without being overpowering. The goal is coverage that feels full and immersive everywhere on the floor, not blasting from a single point source. Guests shouldn’t have to choose between hearing the music and having a conversation at dinner — the system adapts to both.

For lighting, I use Chauvet wireless uplights to elegantly color the dance floor and surrounding space. My DJ table has a thick glass top and a white or black scrim cover, keeping the look clean and refined — appropriate for a property like the Four Seasons.

What Makes This Venue Special

The Four Seasons Ocean Front Lawn is one of my favorite setups on Maui for a few reasons:

  • The acoustic environment — open air with the natural sound of the ocean as a backdrop
  • The sight lines — guests can see the DJ setup from anywhere on the lawn without it being visually intrusive
  • The layout flexibility — ceremony and reception can flow seamlessly in the same space
  • The clientele — couples who book the Four Seasons tend to have a clear vision and an appreciation for quality, which makes the collaboration great

The Four Seasons events team is exceptional to work with — professional, detail-oriented, and genuinely invested in every event going perfectly.
