Olowalu House

This past weekend I did a very nice wedding with Del Sol at the Olowalu Plantation House.
The Olowalu is one of my favorite locations on Maui because of the overall ambience of sound – the waves caressing the shoreline rocks, the birds in the big Cook Pines and Palms. However, as with many locations on the islands, it’s important not to forget to speak into the microphone louder than normal when the noise of the afternoon trade winds is present.

The reception “Dancing Shoes” (pictured) was a fun, creative, and colorful idea. There are basically 2 areas for dancing at the Olowalu. 1. On the dedicated cement dance floor next to the parking lot or 2. Directly in front of the house in the grass. Older folks are generally pretty cautious when dancing on grass. A permanent or temporarily built dance floor can be well worth it. Your coordinator or I can rent one for you for around $1000.
The bride, groom, and guests did, however have an AWESOME time rocking out on the grass! The kids were especially fun to watch. Great wedding!
